Counselling for Adolescents

Adolescence is one of the most important stages of human development. It is a time when young people experience several psychological, physical and identity changes during their journey to adulthood.

Teenage years in today’s fast changing world results in adolescents facing challenges that parents have not experienced before or fail to understand which creates isolation, fear, anxiety and worry. Educating Educators is our answer to the current chaos in today’s world of education. As the demand for world class education increases in leaps and bounds, one of the many educational problems that almost every school faces today is a shortage of trained teachers. And one of the most common ways to deal with this shortage is by educating current teachers to enhance their awareness.

At Embolden we aim to provide a fast track solution by offering teacher training courses for individuals coming from different fields or looking to upgrade their existing skill set. To provide new and existing teachers with the greatest chance of success, we offers a multi dimensional teacher preparation program that provides them with knowledge, experience, and guidance to satisfy the vast demands placed on teachers today.

Our training programs enable schools and teachers to enroll for teacher empowerment sessions on select modules of interest or enroll for the entire program. Maternal Mental Health

Motherhood is not an easy ride and promoting maternal mental health is an integral part of raising a healthy baby and family. Sessions are usually scheduled every week and last between one to one and a half hours.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) focuses on how your thoughts, feelings and emotions influence your behaviour. It also helps to manage emotions, be more mindful and learn to accept and deal with pain. CBT is an important tool which helps you identify and become aware of negative thinking patterns that affect your lifestyle and everyday choices. It enables you to identify challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in an effective manner. We try to develop a customized plan and sometimes use a wide array of other therapies such as music therapy and art therapy to help identify and cope with specific challenges in a shorter duration. Functional skills are an important part of our program for children with special needs. The ability to function and live independently as an adult is an important goal we work towards for every child with special needs. We along with other therapists work with children for the implementation of basic social skills that children will utilize in their everyday life. We work with parents to develop a customized plan to ensure that children will be able to vocalize, express and communicate depending on their current level of ability. Individual goals and objectives are discussed with the parents depending on their situation and available resources. Basic reading and writing skills are worked with a team of experts from Nivritti, a Bodhi Valley special education initiative based in Hyderabad.

Functional Skills for Children with Special Needs
